3 tips to make your glowy makeup last longer

Luminous makeup, pearly makeup, shiny makeup, crystal skin, flawless girl… As you can see, the big trend of the year is a luminous and fresh complexion. And even more so, this fall will focus on minimalist makeup looks with glossy lips. Less is more! Shine is even noticeable in hair (with wet look and glass hair), and not just in fashion photoshoots…

But back to makeup! The key is to achieve a healthy glow, with the effect of bare, luminous skin. In order to achieve this, you don’t need to overpowder your complexion for it to last.

As a professional makeup artist, I’ve noticed that brides this 2024 season prefer natural, luminous looks. The challenge, therefore, is to enhance creamy and shiny textures while ensuring long-lasting, sweat-resistant, and emotionally resilient… Here are three solutions to make your glowy makeup last all day!

Choose a foundation with good grip!

After applying the right skincare for your needs, you need a good base if you want to limit the use of powder later on. This foundation should also be adherent. I love E.l.f.’s Power Grip primer. Milk’s Hydro Grip primer is also very popular. Don’t forget to check whether you’re using water-based or silicone-based products and choose your primer based on your needs.

Blend your mattifying powder skillfully.

To maintain the luminous effect of your creamy and liquid products, avoid applying powder too heavily, whether pressed or loose. If you have normal to dry skin, you can apply a layer of powder all over your face with a brush. Do so gently and, if necessary, apply more intensely to areas where you’ve corrected dark circles. If you have combination to oily skin, use a powder puff to apply powder to the T-zone and areas that need special correction (such as blemishes). But limit the use of powder to the cheeks area as much as possible. You can perfect your cheeks with blush and highlighter.

Highlight: Face Spray!

You’re probably familiar with setting sprays. More than that, for a radiant complexion, I recommend face sprays, like L’Oréal Infaillible Spray. Applied at the end of your makeup, they’re the key step to keeping your complexion looking set. If you feel like some areas are still a little sticky, using face spray won’t be a problem anymore.
